She’s going to lose her “baby” which is a metaphor for her relationship, so she “always keeps a bottle near”, meaning she is going to keep drinking whether it kills her “baby” (relationship) or not.

As an independent artist who has broken into the mainstream with three top twenty hits, including two number ones, he and Ryan Lewis have broken through the barrier that says only those signed to major record labels can make it big in music!

Despite the fact that the hook is sung by Ray Dalton, it largely plays on Macklemore’s mentality. Many of his songs (like on “And We Danced”) speak of overcoming everyone else’s opinion/dominance, and fighting it until he dies.

Contested lyrics alert: It doesn’t sound like it, but the hook is actually “‘Can’ we go back”, not “‘Here’ we go back”. Singer Ray Dalton explained this in an interview with MTV’s Rebecca Thomas.

RAC used to stand for “Remix Artist Collective.” These days it’s the solo project of André Allen Anjos.

RAC is primarily known for remixes (200+). It started with an ambitious goal to change the way things were remixed. Taking the focus away from danceability and attempting different and interesting arrangements. Some notable examples include U2, Lady Gaga, Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, Kings Of Leon, Katy Perry, The Shins, Bloc Party, Chromeo, Lana Del Rey, Two Door Cinema Club and many more.

Guru and Premier turn their attention–and poetic imagination–skyward. Unlike baser MC’s/DJ’s, their themes are aspirational. Instead of focusing on the material (ice, cars, etc.) like lesser MCs, Guru pursues the metaphysical with Primo’s backing. Much like the hook, this opens up the idea that in the underground (the sky) is the original idea’s for rap songs.
