T.I. is making a distinct here which is absolutely key to students of law and criminology.

While a lot of the law stems from our moral code, that something is a crime DOESN’T make it morally wrong. If T.I. really just wanted to protect himself – and he certainly had reason to feel threatened – then we can’t really blame him.

The media, however, just jumped on the crime and lambasted him for a moral fault which he denies.

“Fold” here might have two meanings: first, simply that of literally bending, as a similar metaphor for giving in to pressure. Second, it could refer to throwing your hand in at a poker game, and thus acknowledging defeat. This is not likely to happen to T.I..
