I remember introducing people to Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole’s music, arguing they were dope when people would say they were boring. I actually met (he walked passed me and never stopped) J. Cole on a show he did for a Heineken event when “The Warm Up” came out. He got on stage and everyone knew all the songs. He was like physically shocked that he had fans in Chicago. A couple years later they are regarded as legends. You find yourself as an artist thinking what do I have to do, and the first question everyone hits you with is “How much is your budget?” Well God Damn…

I’ve had the most accomplishments in the last 2 years than the previous 10 as far as music however still mostly unknown. So in my spirit I kind of have to keep trying to be positive and hopeful while being proud of what we have done.

I felt it was very important to get vulnerable right away on this song and let people know that the main feeling you have before you release a big project is probably FEAR of what happen if..nothing happens? What will I do then. I’m also thanking this crowd that you hear clapping for coming and you can tell I’m surprised they are still there. These are my closet supporters.

This is really the overall message of the whole album and by the time you get to the end of it and hear my story I hope it comes back full circle to what I say here (to myself and to you at the same time)

I honestly don’t really like this line lol, however I thought it was a good visual. Like you can picture everything I said even though it was kind of corny to me but struggle bars serve a purpose every now and then lol.

Biggest reason to get a record deal is exposure. But if you can find a way around that to get directly to fans like whoever you are reading this right now, then a record company starts looking more like a bank. You don’t walk around talking out huge loans you don’t need with crazy interest rates so a contract is the same. The goal is to keep what I make and control it unless the deal is very beneficial to me. But I’m still keep my shit tho…
