A year of lockdowns and introspection led Gios4ma to create Go Live, a project highlighting the things that make us feel alive and providing a soundtrack for good times to come. Go Live offers a polished and bright take on Gio’s eclectic style with a focus on collaboration, both within his community of Mississippi up-and-comers and with artists around the country. Lead single “intheface” features Chicago trailblazer Supa Bwe and fellow CQCX member King $ly and balances vibrant production, boisterous verses, and an earworm of a chorus. Follow-up single “hitstick” features DMV artist Ciscero and finds the two trading bars over an energetic bassline, finding immediate chemistry. The rest of the project features Mississippi rappers Flywalker, Vitamin Cea, Dré Dys, RobIsRoyal, & Matityahu, along with voice memos from friends, artists, and members of CQCX (his multimedia collective of long-term online friends) recounting what makes each of them feel alive.

In these lines, Travis uses a similar melodic pattern as Kendrick since he performs repetition around the word “got” to flaunt off his materialism. “Rocks” is slang for cocaine, a stimulant that he refers to commonly in his music.

In addition to this, he alludes to Roc-A-Fella & Roc Nation, the record labels headed by Jay-Z, with notable artist Kanye West and famed executive Lenny Santiago (who normally just goes by Lenny S)
