At long last, A$AP Rocky is finally back with a follow up to his debut album Long.Live.A$AP. This follow up was wonderful at times and incredibly lackluster at others.

Overall the album provided a trippy spaced out vibe that was heavily influenced by Rocky’s experiences with L$D. When I first saw the tracklist I had two thoughts: who the fuck is Joe Fox/why is he on 6 tracks and holy shit Kanye West, Lil Wayne, ScHoolboy Q, Juicy J, UGK, etc. Overall most of the features left the listener wanting more with the strongest exception being Wayne’s stellar energy on M'$

February’s highlight album just got chopped and screwed by two of the best ever to do it. And they even managed to get an exclusive Drake verse

At almost 2 hours this album actually took me multiple listenings to get through but it was definitely an enjoyable experience with the trill lean infused take on Drake’s turnt opus providing a new outlook on bangers that were becomng very familiar.

Just before midnight on the average evening of February 12 the 6 God blessed us with a nearly perfect braggadocious surprise mixtape/album that was easily my favorite album to drop until The Social Experiment’s Surf.

I genuinely appreciate and enjoy Lana Del Rey in small quantities, but getting through this album was like working on a project for school where you get to pick the topic: at first it was fun and interesting but after a little while I just couldn’t wait to get it over worth. This was due to the fact that the album is a whopping 23 tracks that start very strong (Off to The Races is easily my favorite track) and then weaken as it progresses

The Neighbourhood is a fairly typical Tumblr hipster Indie band so I was quite surprised to see that they had their own installment in the legendary Gangsta Grillz series.

Somehow they made it work, even with collaborations that seem crazy on paper from French Montana, Raury, Danny Brown, YG, G-Eazy, OG Maco, Casey Veggies, DeJ Loaf, and others

This outro comes from Jimmy, a friend of Saba and the rest of Pivot Gang that is incarcerated at the time of this song’s release

Jimmy is clearly very close friends with all of Pivot Gang since they went as far to name their collaborative mixtape after him.

Access to firearms and access to alcohol are often two of the largest factors in the likelihood of someone commiting a violent crime

By making both of these readily available in the slums, our society has pushed the underprivileged into a vicious cycle that is very hard to escape from

A possible secondary meaning is that with a rifle it would be very easy to rob someone to get “cheap” (free) drinks

In environments of violence and struggle people often turn towards religion in order to seek solace.

Since many of the people in these slums are facing similar problems, they will likely have similar prayers with sentiments similar to that of Saba’s friend/collaborator Chance The Rapper’s prayer regarding Chicago

On this track Saba vents his frustration towards those who believe that the people of the inner city are of lesser value simply because of their socioeconomic standing.
