Marshall really doesn’t seem to have a great relationship with Christmas or Santa Claus:

I shoot the gift like I’m hollerin “Die santa”
Missed the tree and hit Rudolf and two innocent bystanders

I’m honored. To my knowledge, I was the first (possibly still only) 2 Chainz stan on this site. One of my first usernames, TRUly_Different was 100% inspired by this stanning (TRU coming from 2 Chainz’s signature adlib/The Real University, Different referencing his hit at the time I’m Different)

Chano continues listing the things that he hates:

  • Darkness: could refer to people that aren’t bright (continuing from the last line), literal darkness, dark skin color (which would set up the rest of this line nicely), or figurative darkness used to describe unhappy things or events

  • Racists: could refer to any racists in general, espescially those which are becoming more and more visible through reactions to the conflict in Ferguson

  • White People: could refer to all caucasians, could be a reference to his good friend Childish Gambino’s recent tweets about wanting to be a white rapper, or could just be here to create a juxtaposition between Chano hating racism while being racist towards whites

Weezy’s been with a variety of girls in the past, from models to video vixens to athletes, and he would simply like to say hello and thank them for past experiences

The use of “thank you for your participation” is interesting, because awards for participation often are consolation prizes for those who didn’t win. Perhaps Wayne is thanking them for participation, because none of them have “won” his heart

#Chance Bennett, a peculiar name
Chance(lor) Bennett chose to take a fairly simple route in choosing his alias by using a shortened version of his first name along with the basic job description of “The Rapper.”

It’s interesting that Chano would choose such a restricting title, since he has been known to explore other genres. A great example of this genre-bending is his reworking of the theme song to the children’s show Arthur, with Wyclef Jean, The O'My’s, & many others

In the eyes of the socioeconomically priveleged it doesn’t matter whether a kid from the slums tries to improve himself and graduate (cap and gown) or uses his time out on the streets involved in gang violence (cappin' down). Either way that kid is considered scum by those with no understanding of their struggles.

In the streets, espescially those of Chicago, showing fear is seen as weakness, and could potentially get you assaulted or robbed

Vic chooses an interesting simile to further convey this point with. Though teddy bears do usually have plastic eyes that are physically hard, they are often seen as childish and weak

It seems over the years (starting in ‘09), Black Hippy have all, developed a fondness for Nicki in some way as both an artist and person:

Quincy could be saying the chick in his verse, grew up to be a someone huge and successful, or simply a “bad bitch”

This line is a reference to one of Nicki’s most infamous feature verses, while continuing the nursery rhyme references. This particular line also plays off of “This little Piggy, etc.”, which happens to be quite similar to the name of a song on Nicki’s “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape
