Interesting fact: blind people in fact also dream, depending on how much they could ever seen in the first place. People who are born blind for instance, can only have auditory dreams. However, people who develop blindness later on can and do have visual dreams.

This line is saying that even blind people who are limited by their unfortunate circumstances are able overcome them, and have dreams and aspirations that they intend on pursuing – so we should chase our dreams also, no matter the circumstances we are born with or we have to face.

Children have a sense of freedom that adults don’t seem to have. Children don’t possess all the worries of life: like paying for the mortgage, working, dealing with break-ups, etc. which seem to just fill our lives with constant stress – they instead live life purely in the present moment.

Another great attribute that children possess is their ability to not be trapped with the pursuit of material wealth – playing with dirt could make em' rich all day in this sense means they are happy and fulfilled through even what seems to us adults as deeply insignificant things.

If you honestly believe that ‘there is nothing to live for’ then you shouldn’t waste your time living, lest you be walking contradiction.

There’s always a reason a reason to continue on living in life:

• biologically: we are supposed to propagate our genes to the next generation so we don’t face extinction
• relationally: we have family and friends who have an emotional investment in us
• societal: we are supposed to contribute to society and help move civilization forward
• purposefully: every one has a particular purpose to fulfill, whether it is as small as helping an old man cross the street or as grandiose as finding a cure to cancer, etc.

Oddisee is doubting whether the government is there to represent the people, but rather other interests like the wealthy elite and large corporations.

• Running towards the light could mean becoming enlightened spiritually
• Could also mean running towards the limelight which we so dearly crave to satisfy our egos

Rappers sign unfair recording contracts with large record companies mindlessly without speaking about it first (to ensure the fairness of the deal), and thus lose their voice as an artist, much like who are those people who are mute use sign language because they can’t speak.

Everyone is subjected to the same natural universal laws like the the spin of the planet – and everyone will face the same ending: death by entropy or disease.
