Oh, momentary synergy My Propeller by Arctic Monkeys

Drug use is momentary, hopefully. In this case it is because it’s used solely for a creativity purpose to form a synergy, an interaction between 2 things to create something greater than the two (the drug and the person taking them).

You've got to make your descent slowly My Propeller by Arctic Monkeys

A lot of people think this song is about sex. It certainly would make sense though. Lets say Alex has a ridiculously big dick. You’d have to be gentle while, erm, mounting him or you could hurt yourself.

Of course, if it isn’t about sex, Alex could be talking about making your descent into LSD, or whatever drug you’re using (for inspiration) slowly as drugs can be dangerous — especially if it’s your first time.

I think it’s a lot broader than a sex/drug metaphor. Figurative language about “flight” prevalent throughout the song. Alex’s propeller won’t spin. Which means he’s not “flying.” The object of his “love”, obviously, has a propeller that IS spinning. She’s “flying,” whether that means just feeling good, having no worries, not having problems with love, etc. Because she’s “flying,” she has to “make a descent” in order to reach Alex, who’s on the ground with his non-functioning propeller. She has to help him…by taking a break from her flying. Maybe then they could fly together.

And it's the thousandth time and it's even bolder
Don't be surprised when you get bent over
They told ya, but you were dying for it
Teddy Picker by Arctic Monkeys

Thousands of idiots get their dreams crushed when they fail at trying to become an actress, singer, etc. No one seems to learn. They just seem to be getting more obsessed with it.

‘Getting bent over’ suggests they are getting taken advantage of as well.

The “wheel” in the song is actually the word “reel,” and it goes with the line “if I have questions of the feature” in that the feature is a film.
