Militant Poetry is a African and/or African American artform that is used to write poetry or use the practice of spoken word poetry to inspire or provoke revolution of the black culture, to fight for the independence of more than a race, but lifestyle and culture. See: Gil Scott Heron’s “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” or
Maya Angelou’s “On the Pulse of Morning”

Although Zach de la Rocha isn’t of African decent (but of Mexican, Irish and German ancestry) the poetry has adapted to other races that have been left unfairly stripped of stature or been confiscated basic rights years previous.

It has been adapted into Mexican culture, and done quite recently and consistently by writer Militant Angeleno

although he is there to inspire, not as much provoke revolution like Zach.

Pretty sick double entendre here.
