more personal references…we always had pet dogs growing up, including two Rottweiler’s whose names were inspired by music terminology:
“Coda” – the concluding passage of a piece or movement, typically forming an addition to the basic structure.
“Cadence” – a rhythmic sequence or flow of sounds in language; the beat, time, or measure of rhythmical motion or activity.
so after Coda died in 2011 my mom eventually got another Rottweiler and I suggested we call her Cadence; a name i thought was appropriate since the Coda passage had just ended and we were entering into a new rhythm of sorts.

very personal reference…my mom & grandmother both smoked, and when my grandma was in her final hours (cancer) she asked my mom to help her light & smoke one last Virginia Slim.
also, a long time ago i forced my mom to admit that she smoked when she was pregnant with me lol…she made sure to include a fun fact when i requested a picture for this annotation:
“Yes I smoked when I was pregnant with you. The ‘scolders’ told me that my baby would be premature with a very low birth weight if I kept smoking….you were 2 weeks late weighing in at a whopping 8 lbs 6 oz. Hmmmm….maybe I should have smoked more! LOL”
