Moving out on the same day as U21 teammate Coulthirst is 19 year old defender Connor Ogilvie, who heads out on loan to Stevenage just two short weeks after beating them in a pre-season friendly. With Pochettino’s penchant for pushing through youth, this move may be just what he needs to establish himself in the eyes of the gaffer. You can read more on the move both here and here.

After being as good as confirmed by Érik Lamela a day before, and just two years after joining Spurs, the former Valencia hitman heads back to Liga BBVA to join Villarreal. Despite giving it his all every match, it never clicked for the Soldier, who could never recapture the form that he showed in Spain – hopefully a move back to his home country will help him to start banging the goal in once again. The forward penned an emotional letter of thanks to Spurs and all the supporters, which you can read here.

He signs a three year deal, for a reported fee of £12m. I’ll miss you Bobby – at least we’ll always have Everton. You can read more on his move here.

After almost five years with Spurs, Bafana Bafana captain Bongani Khumalo returns to the club in which he truly made his name – SuperSport United. He made the switch following the South African World Cup in 2010 but returns to the Premier Soccer League without making an appearance for the Lilywhites, instead spending his time with the U21s and out on loan. Hopefully he can get back to his former glory in his home nation – good luck Bongani! You can read more on his move here.

With the glut of right backs currently at the club – Walker, Trippier, Yedlin and Dier at a pinch – something had to give and unfortunately it was youth academy graduate Ryan Fredericks, who makes the move to Bristol City on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee.

A typically rapid full back, the 23 year old will be looking to get more playing time after he wasn’t quite afforded what he needed on loan with Boro last season. You can read more on his move here.

23 year old defender Grant Hall makes a move across London, leaving Spurs to link up once again with Chris Ramsey - now head coach of the R’s - who had the following to say –

I’ve always liked Grant from when I worked with him at Spurs. He’s an old fashioned defender – he can head the ball, he can tackle and he doesn’t mind putting his foot in when he needs to. But he can play as well from the back, and that’s what we’ll be looking to do when the opportunities present themselves this season.

The centre back signs a two year contract after spending pre-season at Loftus Road. You can read more on his move here
