Serotonin is the chemical in your body that makes you feel happy.

Tropical depression

Play on words, since when you think of ‘Tropical’ you think of the sun and happy thoughts, while with ‘depression’ you think the opposite. Also another reference to the weather in this line.

Slug acknowledges that when the discussion of the “The Greatest Emcees of All Time” comes up, his name won’t make that list to the common Hip-Hop fan because as an indie artist, he isn’t as well known as Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, etc.

Even though his fans/family/city know he’s not the best, they still hold him down and support him and he appreciates it all.

Many women seek to only date rappers because of their high-profile status and only wish to gain fame and fortune.

Could also be a play on words rappers/rapers as in ‘date rape’ which is the use of alcohol and/or drugs to assist an attacker in the sexual assault against his/her victim, who either knowingly or unknowingly consumes it. The most common drugs that are used are Rohypnol (AKA Roofies) and Ketamine (Found in horse tranquilizers) among others. Pack is comparing rappers to date rapists, since they both have ulterior motives; date rapists are only going out with their victims so they can drug them to have sex, while a lot of rappers don’t care about the music and just want to become rich and famous, unlike Pack who does care about his music.

This also could be a reference to A Tribe Called Quest’s song “The Infamous Date Rape” of which Pack is a fan of…the group of course, not rape.

The ATL hip-hop scene is the third big genre stream besides West Side and East Coast. It’s also Called the Dirty South. CunninLynguists are one of the most influential hip-hop artists from the Atlanta hip-hop scene, they make a refference to where they are from.
