This is a boxing reference. You can pay Cappadonna to take a dive (lose on purpose). He’ll take your money but he ain’t losing, he’s in it for the long haul.

Alternatively, the term ‘few hundred thousand dollar dives’ could refer to snorting cocaine, such as displayed in the film Scarface. The next line, “And still never go down,” is another connotation that attributes to the film since Tony Montana (Scarface protagonist) remains stable throughout a stretched barrage.

Jason Kidd is a former NBA player. He was a ten-time All-Star, five-time All-NBA first team selection, and nine-time All-NBA Defensive team member. He was known for always being a triple-double threat.

He led the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) to back-to-back finals appearances in the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons but lost to the legendary Lakers and Spurs dynasties. However, he did win a ring in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks when they defeated the Heat in their first season as The Heatles (LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh). He is first eligible for Hall of Fame consideration in 2018.
