Should say:

“blush of our bodies” not “well shove our bodies”

“reddened the sky” not “blood in the sky”

When I muscle up some money
I'll rattle the sabre of the streets
Cause death has no respect for love
And youth no respect for me
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

After our hero gets some money he’ll run into the streets and raise hell again, doing everything he did before because no matter how much he loves the live he lives or the people in it, death does not care and it will soon come, and the youth he is trying to lead have no respect for him, but he still will set an example and leave them with the message to live in the moment, always.

The comparison of “rattling a sabre” is in reference to the fact that when a sabre is rattled inside of it’s scabbard or clanging against something it will make a loud noise. The singer wants to get the attention of the youth he speaks of.

Hurricane home to crusade alone
Wounded and thin
Still waiting for a generation's bonfire to begin
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

After a long night the punk-rock hero has made it back home, probably still half-drunk, tired, and ready to do it all over again.

Whoring my heart
On the wings of a western night
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

After the release of their first album, “Post-Nothing”, Japandroids toured extensively throughout 2009-2010 and always garnered praise for their energetic performances despite being just a duo. This is another example of the punk-rock exuberance heard in The Nights of Wine and Roses and also goes back to the earlier line “riding the wind.” The singer is high as can be on the wings of the night, raising hell with new life from punk-rock.

There is no high like this
Adrenaline nightshift
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

Normally nightshifts are considered terrible because people sleep at night, but not this one. You can’t have a bonfire for a generation in the day time, the city comes alive at night, the greatest indulgences in guilty vices are at night. There is no greater “high” then the feeling of a good time on a night on the town.

When a red-blooded daughter
Slowed my gunfire run to rest
With her Blitzkrieg love
And a roman candle kiss
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

The daughter is passionate and has the ability to strike awe, as her love is compared to the fast and overwhelming Blitzkrieg and her kiss compared to a roman candle which are fast and explosive. She took this free spirit of a man and had him slow his roll, making him awestruck.

Baby you’re a firework…

Busting my guts
On a riot dose of paradise
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

Legend has it both Brian King and David Prowse both vomited right before they went on stage at the Siren Music Festival in 2009. In a 2010 interview with The Village Voice Brian King said the following about the rumour:

Both of us thought we were going to be sick hours before when we looked out there. But I’m not going to embarrass ourselves by saying whether we actually did or not. I guess that’s best left to legend.

When the plunder of the poets
Thunder of a punk's guitar
Beat life to my body
Sulking drunk at the back of a bar
Adrenaline Nightshift by Japandroids

Where words fail, music speaks. The singer finds himself depressed and sulking, drunk in the back of a tavern but where words can’t help him the rhythm of a punk rock guitar began to give him hope.

Japandroids draws heavy influence from punk rock bands like The Sonics and The Gun Club, popular punk bands that revolutionized the genre. Often punk music isn’t looked at for technical lyrical capability but for the rawness and energy in the music and lyrics.
