By “Duncan-esque,” Shad compares himself to basketball player Tim Duncan who has spent his whole career as a player for San Antonio Spurs. He won a championship in only his second season, thus being on top at the start and being on top still, today — he won the NBA Finals with Popovich in 2014. That’s in reference to the previous lines.

This is not the first time Shad compares himself to basketball player Tim Duncan. In his song “I Don’t Like To” from his 2007 album The Old Prince, he raps:

This makes Granddad even angrier than that. But Riley knows what he’s doing. He’s drinking the juice, so that Granddad sends him to the store. But you already know where he plans to go.

“A full day’s supply of vitamin C” are also Granddad’s words when he drinks a whole carton of orange juice. Cristal used the same words in “Guess Hoe’s Coming to Dinner.”
