When someone does something good, it often is at the expense of someone else. So, when someone does something well it could take away from another person making it a penalty towards them.

This is also a pun on the label that J-Live was signed to some time before he recorded this verse, Penalty (Ryko). He released only one album under this label, The Hear After, before they got in a conflict with each other and he had to leave the label.

But although he broke up with Penalty, he still can’t be stopped from spitting dope shit and he believes he can find a better record label soon.

And yeah, he was right. He signed to BBE Records only like a year after.

A reference to lines from Kool G. Rap’s verse on Marley Marl’s “The Symphony”.

When G Rap strikes the mic,
I recite the type of hype that you like
That make the people unite

Kool G. Rap, a rapper from Queens, New York, is often cited as one of the most influential and skilled MC’s of all time and is one of R.A. the Rugged Man’s favorite rappers of all time. R.A. spoke about the importance of Kool G. Rap in hip-hop, in the unkut interview.

Even his peers!

Hell Razah was born in Brooklyn, New York (aka BK). Brooklyn is a pretty hard place to live in, and there are a lot of legendary rappers that were born in Brooklyn, like Jay Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Yasiin Bey, Big Daddy Kane, Talib Kweli, GZA etc., so it’s definitely hard to keep up with that competition. But, Hell Razah can adapt anywhere, so no doubt growing up and develpoing into an MC in Brooklyn was easy for him.
