The police man is trying reassure the girl by telling her he will not let the pimp harm her but police in England are useless, he then goes on to try and get information from the girl on the pimp. He is persistent. He wants to know and he wants it now.
However, it seems like the detective is the first person after a long time that doesn’t treat like a dirty whore and is trying to help her. So, she enjoys the conversation with him although she knows that it may lead her to getting murdered.
Furthermore, the detective in informing Little Lady most likely that there has been an ongoing problem with prostitution and violence. Him telling her of other cases of abuse are helping her realize it’s a much bigger problem than she thought it was. Still, with each piece of dialogue back and forth, she is bringing herself into more danger with her pimp. Hence the term, “kicking knowledge”.
