This, Yohan Cabaye’s 12th goal in the Premier League, is his 8th scored from outside the box. The Frenchman loves a screamer.

Catching the ball sweetly off the damp and skiddy turf, the ball takes a kind deflection off a Liverpool body. In goal, Mignolet isn’t concentrating and doesn’t anticipate a shot from that distance. He reacts too slowly and is beaten at the far post.

Before the match, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was seen studying the Norwich team warming up with great intensity. It seems that he wasn’t actually watching the players, but the sun. After winning the coin toss, Chelsea opted to start the game with their goal in the shade. The sun caused absolute havoc shining into Norwich keeper Ruddy’s eyes and Chelsea pumped many long passes over the defence.

Demba Ba, who loves to contest aerial balls, looked in his element. He holds the ball up after such a pass before playing in Oscar. The Brazilian hits a class one-touch finish with the outside of his boot.

Now the youngest player ever to score a brace for Man Utd (beating the likes of Ronaldo and Rooney). Both goals were excellent, but the precise volley for the second will be one of the best goals this week.

Januzaj’s United contract expires next summer. He’s also eligible to play for Belgium, Croatia, Albania, Turkey and England at international level. There’s going to be one hell of a bidding war for this kid.

A much-needed win to ease the pressure on new United boss David Moyes came against Sunderland, but not without great effort.

After falling behind early on, United slowly clawed their way back to cohesion and two goals from 18 year old Adnan Januzaj secured three vital points for the team. Januzaj’s inclusion in the starting XI was initially questioned whilst players such as Danny Welbeck and the out of favour Shinji Kagawa were left on the bench. Januzaj repaid them with two great goals and an easing of pressure on a United side that now climb to the sickening highs of… Ninth in the table.

Showing solidarity with Portal by being the only games in the top 25 with female main characters is Ms Pac-Man.

It was originally conceived as a minor update to the original Pac-Man, but was given a full arcade release by Midway as “our way of thanking all those lady arcaders who have played and enjoyed Pac-Man”.

It went on to become the world’s most popular game in 1982, raking in millions of quarters from young people the world over.

Without Hideo Kojima, Konami and Metal Gear Solid, modern video games might not place quite the same emphasis on story and characters.

The first MGS game was one of the first 3d, mass-market video games to have a truly deep lore. The entire game world and all its characters were fully-realised with detailed arcs to a level of detail never before seen in the medium.

It started a series that continues to this day (Metal Gear Solid 5 is scheduled for next-gen platforms) and endures in gaming culture due to its strength of story and brilliant, unique quirks. Who can forget having to look at the back of the actual game box to find a codec frequency, or having to switch controller ports because Psycho Mantis could read your mind when you used port 1?

The updated version of Street Fighter IV, the game that brought the classic fighter into a 3d world and revitalised the competitive fighting game scene, which was on its dying breath at the time.

The Super version of SF4 also got rid of the original game’s intro song, which probably justifies its inclusion in this list alone.

Cardiff City fans applauded their team’s efforts at full time after they tried their hardest to mount a 2-goal comeback in the second half. The first belonged to Newcastle, who looked comfy and assured, but in the second half Cardiff looked a different side due to the introduction of young Jordan Mutch.

Mutch provided the impetus for a revival and Cardiff dominated the proceedings after that. Despite the loss, fans will be pleased to see new signing Peter Odemwingie get his first goal for the bluebirds.
