“Joe-Burg” is referring to Johannesburg, the most populous city in South Africa, which is the world’s top country for mining.
South Africa is the world’s largest proucer of not only diamonds (the subject of this song), but is also the world leader for mining gold, gold, and chromium.
In August 2012, many miners in South Africa went on strike, and had extremely violent police encounters. It would called “The Lonmin Strike” (or Marikana miners' strike). It was called that because it happened at a mine owned by Lonmin, the largest platinum producer in the world.
On Thursday, 16 August 2012, the Lonmin Strike resulted in the deaths of 34 individuals by police, as well as the injury of an additional 78 miners.

Tray Deee is a real OG Crip: Before becoming a rapper, Tray Deee was a member of the Insane Crips gang in Long Beach. On February 2, 2005, Tray Deee was sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted murder, stemming from a 2003 incident in which he fired at rival gang members. He was imprisoned at California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, California until his release on April 3, 2014.
