October 16, 1995 was the date of the Million Man March, a gathering of African Americans in the National Mall in Washington D.C. It was organized by African American advocate Louis Farrakhan, with the purpose to “convey to the world a vastly different picture of the Black male.” It featured many notable speakers, including Martin Luther King III, and Rose Parks.

As it turns out, Million Man March organizer Louis Farrakhan would eventually help Cube and Common squash the beef

Even by the standards of N.W.A songs, ‘A Bitch Iz A Bitch’ is a little misogynistic

The real key to this line is that Common is dissing Cube with his own line. Cold-ass way to end the track.

Cube’s homie calls himself Mack 10, but his mic skills aren’t so high-caliber. Hey-o!

Mack 10 also appeared in I’m ‘Bout It, the worst piece of shit movie in the history of American cinema.

(But Mack 10, if you’re reading, props for marrying T-Boz. Seriously. Too bad about that divorce and restraining order)

Com returns again to the theme of Cube’s hypocrisy. Ice Cube is a Muslim, and it is against Islam to drink alcohol.

“Violate” is a common gang term in Chicago. A person receives one when they break the rules. A “violation” usually results in the person getting beat up by fellow gang members

The line is about the fact that Cube converted to Islam in the 90’s, but shills for malt liquor (among other things), even though alcohol is forbidden in the Qu'ran. This is why Common calls Cube a hypocrite in the previous line.

Bean pies, which Cube mentions in ‘Steady Mobbin’ were sold by the Nation of Islam on street corners, while St. Ides is a malt liquor: the two appear to be diametrically opposed in Ice Cube’s world.

In addition to making numerous glorifying references to alcohol in his lyrics, Ice Cube was in a series of St. Ides commercials, such as this one with the Geto Boys
