Surely a reference to Wu-Tang Clan. The emphasis on the word cream is exactly the same as in the hook to Wu-Tang’s “C.R.E.A.M”. And the whoo sound effect sounds just like the “Wu” chants from songs like “Clan in Da Front”.

But is Saukrates dissing the Wu, paying homage, or just biting them?

Leonard Part 6 is a 1987 film starring Bill Cosby as a spy.

Part of the conceit of the film is that parts 1-5 were made but never shown due to international security concerns. In other words Leonard Part 5 is a fake film. Saukrates wants you to stop being fake and get real.

Straight outta Toronto, Saukrates dropped this indie banger back in 1995, sporting a part-Jeru, part-GZA flow and a grudge against the Wu. Why a Canadian would go after Shaolin’s finest is one of the great unanswered questions of Hip Hop.

The song made some noise in the underground but Saukrates failed to follow it up and quietly fell off the radar. He went on to work with Method Man though so if there ever was any Wu-beef, it got squashed.

The precursor to the anthem “Shook Ones Part II”, this version was overlooked at the time and is almost forgotten now despite a nice verse from Prodigy and an even darker beat by Havoc.

Props to Buckwild for using the acapella in “O-Zone” by O.C..

During a Drink Champs podcast in 2016, Havoc mentioned he used the sound of a “project stove” in creating this beat.

Showbiz continues the boxing theme and shows some love to Iron Mike.

The first reference is to the 1990 Tyson vs Douglas fight, in which heavy underdog James “Buster” Douglas knocked out the undefeated, undisputed heavyweight champion. Remember the footage of a dazed Tyson on all fours fumbling for his gumshield? It’s still one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Next we have the 1988 street brawl between Tyson and Mitch “Blood” Green at the famous Dapper Dan clothing store in Harlem. The one-punch fight left Tyson with a broken hand and Green with a broken face.

Ghostface sets himself up as a Jesus-like figure, describing himself in terms almost identical to those used by John to describe Jesus in the Book of Revelation:

His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace

This theme carries over into the next line.
