“Self Destruction” is a 1989 track by the Stop The Violence Movement, a loose collective of rappers brought together by KRS One.

The song called for an end to the kind of black-on-black crime that Lord Quas expresses his frustration with in this track. But “Self Destruction” was aimed at Hip Hop fans rather than artists. Back in 89, so-called gangsta rap was still in its infancy, and more than balanced out by other styles.
