The lifestyle Emilio lives with drinking, smoking, rolling around with drug dealers and gangbangers is a fast and dangerous way of living, one that could lead to his death. This also references the first few lines of this verse where he speaks recklessly about enjoying life doing careless acts for pleasure.

With the success Emilio has garnered, he refuses to allow the people of his hometown to make a living as prostitutes or drug dealers and wants to share his riches with them. This theme of rappers putting their cities on is a common thing like in this song for example.

Spending all of her income on bills and supporting her children, Emilio’s mother was unable to purchase herself things that she needed and wore really worn out sneakers to work for years. Even small things like this show the struggle Emilio’s family endured through their life.

The homes and neighborhoods Emilio grew up were broken down and didn’t really provide a stable environment for growth. Sadly his family couldn’t do better with a single mother working multiple jobs just to pay bills. With the situation as it was, Emilio’s dreams were shattered because he thought he may never leave this struggling lifestyle.
