YT4 (Placeholder) is Young Thug’s fourth studio album and sixteenth official solo release, following his June 2023, BUSINESS IS BUSINESS.

First hint of Young Thug’s next album was when a listening event was done for Young Thug’s third studio album, BUSINESS IS BUSINESS, on June 29, 2023, at various record store locations across the US.

On June 27, 2023, 300 Entertainment, Young Thug, and each event’s location announced on social media listening events across the US to happen on Thursday, June 29, 2023, with exclusive bonus songs added to the album’s tracklist, separate from the bonus songs on Business Is Business (Metro’s Version). Through the promotion, the label states:

Come get your #BIB copy and get a chance to hear unreleased upcoming music from Young Thug.

At the events, four unreleased songs were played, each of them being well-known leaks or highly anticipated snippets. After initially being thought the songs would be on a listening party version of the album, the songs were not made available through the CDs from the listening events, so they were expected to release on a new album.
