Marv Albert is a famous sports broadcaster, a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee known as “the voice of basketball.” Albert did play-by-play for the New York Knicks for 37 years, starting in 1967. He also did play-by-play for nationwide audiences on NBC, and later, TNT.

“YES! And it counts!” is Albert’s signature call.

In 1997, Albert was charged with a bizarre sexual assault: A woman accused Albert of throwing her on a bed, biting her, and forcing her to perform oral sex after an argument in his hotel room. DNA testing linked Albert to genetic material taken from the bite marks and from semen in the woman’s underwear.

efemjay disses former Vice President Al Gore, and Gore’s then-wife (the two have since become estranged) Tipper. This is a continuation from the previous line, where efemjay says those who initiate force, or advocate the initiation of force (“statists”) are weak. Al Gore is a statist; so is his ex-wife Tipper. In fact, Tipper was a leading proponent of music censorship and ushered in the Parental Advisory sticker system. That’s cool; it helped me identify the best tapes when I was a kid.

As for the second line of this couplet, efemjay says that the Gores are a “pair of hypocrites” – Al Gore, for instance, won the Nobel Peace Prize, but advocated regime change in Iraq and was generally a pro-war U.S. Senator. He also advocates initiation of force to deal with “climate change.” This, in efemjay’s mind, makes him a hypocrite. Tipper is lumped in, perhaps unfairly, but is undoubtedly a hypocrite too (most people are).

efemjay also says that the Gores are “more evil than the Gipper” – “the Gipper” being a nickname for former president Ronald Reagan, a perennial foe of rap artists for his War on Drugs and Reaganomics.

The basis of Rothbardian libertarianism is the non-aggression axiom – the idea that no human being should ever initiate force against another human being or their property. Force used in self defense is perfectly acceptable. Here, efemjay is saying that those who initiate force – statists – are not macho or “hard,” but weak.

Murray Rothbard was an American-born Jew; an economist from the Austrian school; a historian; and a political philosopher who fused Austrian economics with classical liberalism, creating modern libertarianism – or, more specifically, anarcho-capitalism, now often referred to as (and sometimes distinguished from) “market anarchism”.

Although Rothbard was opposed to the state, he participated in politics – almost invariably supporting the candidate he thought was most anti-war. This caused him to support Strom Thurmond’s openly racist “states' rights”-based presidential campaign in 1948; liberal Democrat Adlai Stevenon II’s failed runs for the presidency in 1952 and 1956; and Pat Buchanan’s “paleoconservative” presidential campaign in 1992.

In the middle, Rothbard tried to form a Left-Right Alliance between the “New Left” – the student left, such as Students for a Democratic Society (the group which later morphed into the Weather Underground) – and the “Old Right” of paleoconservatives and paleolibertarians. The basis for this alliance was anti-imperialism. Anti-war, indeed.

Jasmine Byrne is a hard-core porn actress. Some of her films include Anal Cavity Search 4, Assault That Ass 6, Butt Quest 4, and Cum Fart Cocktails 2 – quite a body of work.

efemjay here is saying that he “rocks” hard-core like her – his rhyming technique is just as “hard core” as Ms. Byrne’s on-film sexual antics.

Marty Whitehead was the name of one of efemjay’s high-school friends, who later showed up on the OTIS (Offender Tracking Information System, not to be confused with the Jay-Z & Kanye West song) web site. Here, efemjay says that Mr. Whitehead “paved the way” for another one of his classmates, Dave LaMay, who also ended up on OTIS, teaching him to write bad checks.

This is the first of many deeply inside references on Full Blown AIDS. Neal Daley was a student at efemjay’s high school. As a prank, Daley’s friends began writing “Neal Daley is Gay” on their $1 bills. Within the relatively closed economy of the high school (lunch money, etc.), it was common to find “Neal Daley is gay” bills.

Neal Daley is not gay, FWIW.
