‘Johhny Rockets’ is a name of a 50’s diner styled restaurant franchise. Ludacris takes the diner’s name for himself because he’s good with the cannon/ rockets (referring to guns).
No in the music video he has Holyfield and him alluding to his cannon of an arm in pugislistic fashion. AKA boxing. So restaurant and boxing are the double entendres. Luda was never a gangster rapper he was a gangster affiliate and adorer. It’s quite possibly the reason he’s so respected as an artist he never faked as anyone he wasn’t. He deserves to be amongst the Golden Age hip hoppers and was the end of the era that led to the advent of the industry post MGM v Grokster.
