Acey thinks that the only reason that ignorant rappers, who are only in the game for cash, are successful is because white billionaires want to see blacks portrayed as ignorant and glorify the deeds that will put them in jail.

Money can’t buy happiness. If you pretend that it does, then Acey will see right through you and know the truth. I guess DJ Khaled was right when he said that rappers Suffer From Success

Society needs a person to be a model “bad” guy. That way, they can make themselves look better by comparison. Perhaps Al Pacino’s character in Scarface said it best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzfX0T4LDD8

Double Entendre Alert

  • The billionaires are presenting rappers like they’re King Kong, and the more and more animalistic they appear (hence showing their jaws) the more the billionaires will reward them for helping them degrade the black race.

  • Showing your jaws can mean being aggressive, so he could be commenting on how rappers with violent lyrics are becoming more and more praised by society.

Acey is comparing rappers to prostitutes, and it’s a very fitting one in some ways. Both rappers and prostitutes put in work whilst having to give the majority of their earnings to someone who does barely any of it (record labels and pimps). Acey has hope that all rappers are like Trinidad James, who only dumbs down his music only because lyrical music doesn’t sell. He hopes that they don’t actually believe in the criminal behavior that they rap about.

The average rapper only receives about 9% of every dollar his or her physical albums earns. Because of this, if the only people who are buying albums are rich white kids, then the artists are going to cater to their tastes so they can make enough money to compensate for the 91% of earnings they miss out on. Acey blames this for the reason why rappers are selling out. He wants to make a point to society that hip-hop listeners as a whole aren’t dumbing down, it’s just that the same listeners who support lyrical rappers are often times the ones who can’t afford to support them.

In this verse, Acey is mocking rappers that have nothing more to talk about than drugs, cash, and violence–more specifiaclly 50 Cent. In 50’s song Wanksta, he raps that he was sentenced to three-to-nine years in prison for selling crack to. He also claims to have been shot nine times, but many people believe that he was only shot three times. Acey is calling 50 out for making music that glorifies criminal behavior just to make some cash. Acey has no love for people that sacrifice their integrity and stereotype the black race for a quick buck.
