Although during the film Fade to Black Jay-Z states that he has never read the Bible, this line is from Isaiah 11:6 in which several predator animals lie with prey signifying the perfect nature of the world that will be restored at a later date. The Bible verse states that a child will lead these animals.

There is an interesting contrast between this line and the concept of Lupe’s “The Instrumental”, reflecting a shift in the role of media. In “The Instrumental”, the media is described as a tool of brainwashing and helplessness. In this song, it’s going to be used as a tool to inspire, showing our protagonist a world that he wants for himself.

Most people are just kind of laughing at Lil Kim’s repeated attempts at dissing Nicki. A lot of the things Kim has said herself are pretty unintentionally hilarious.
