Going to the moon in this case means to have sex. When an astronaut first sees the moon from outer space he/she most likely have a euphoric feeling. Mac compares this to the sex him and his girl will be having.
Making eye contact while sex is also describe by many to have a euphoric feeling. The landing part continues the Moon reference, as well as finishing.
