There’s no time for Huey to worry about competition. He knows he’s steadily climbing in the game, and he can’t let that slip away from him. Huey also realizes a way to retain his position could be to diss another rapper, but he knows it would be “childish” and expose some vulnerability.

This could be a shot at Kendrick, but nowadays disses are becoming more common. Most likely, this is just a general statement.

Having your eye exposed to smoke will make it burn and eventually turn red. Relating to the chorus, the smoke came from the burning book(s) in which the character could not look away from because of the shock they received from letting their pains go. In a turn of events, he/she finds hope after all and the ropes of life seem to be loosening.

Verse three describes the aftermath of the two verse build-up and the actual event taking place during the chorus.

The chorus reveals the true meaning of the song which is to stop worrying about your problems because it’s all in the past. What may have occurred previously, even earlier that day, can simply be written down and burned to symbolize freeing yourself from them.

Every night in Euro’s early career, he would constantly worry weather or not he was going to make it in the rap game. Stress became so much of an issue for him that he felt constricted by it in his sleep, causing him to toss and turn. It even came across his mind to give up rap altogether, but he stuck with it and look at him now!

With all of this fame that Euro is receiving comes women desperately trying to be with him. This can be a good thing for many reasons, but for Euro it simply means that there is hope for love after years of no one taking an interest in him. Also, he is going to take his time picking out the right girl, like taking your time to find the right dish on a restaurant menu.

The road to riches always seems like a promising path. However, Euro helps expose it’s true colors by revealing that love and happiness are not guaranteed.
