Pure MDMA is either powder or crystals. In this case, Danny is literally talking about licking your finger and dipping it in the powder, similar to the way somebody consumes the candy Fun Dip.

It’s also about dipping his ‘ink pen’, euphemism for having sex.

Also a reference to Freak Nasty’s “Da Dip” :

I put my hand upon your hip
When I dip, you dip, we dip
You put your hand upon my hip
When you dip, I dip, we dip

Freak Nasty’s “Da Dip” is also sampled is this song but he didn’t want to clear it because Nasty thought it’d bring bad representation to his song but he eventually did it (39min)

#It’s true…

A lot of rappers are talking about or sweating off Molly, regularly.

But Danny doesn’t believe they are really popping what they claim to be popping.

Danny is pointing out that “Molly” is a crystalline powder in a bag that you stick your finger in and then lick . Not something that comes in plurals that can be popped.

Or at least that’s what it has meant for the last 15 years or so. God knows what it means now. Heard enough talk about “popping mollies” that I assume people are filling up capsules, even if I haven’t seen a capsule filled with mahl dawg in a few years.

Chance spends his time reflecting on life, but it’s ironic because where he’s from, he’s surrounded more by death than anything.

Chance likens himself to Michael Jackson when he was still dark-skinned. Do you see the resemblance:

But “Bad” was one of MJ’s hits when he was light-skinned.

Play off of Nas' 5th album Stillmatic. Perhaps Chance wonders if this is still Nas' state of mind.

This line is less random than one would think: The previous line was about God, and this one is about Nas, who is also known as “God’s Son”.

Summer is coming and Drake can feel the heat since there’s more crime in the warm months. (Double entendre since it’s literally hot in the summer)

This could also be a reference to Summer from “From Time”

This girl Drake used to be with has a kid now, so her new life responsibilities mean she has to calm down.

The girl Drake talks about is probably Paris Morton, who recently gave birth to a son named Carter.

Drake cares so much about her, he’s willing to put her up (and he’s got space), but she doesn’t need him to.

He’s got a habit for texting those old flames.

This might also be a reference to his song “From Time”, which contains a similar line about texting:

Passive aggressive when we’re textin', I feel the distance

Due to the similarity of lines, Drake could also be referring to Courtney. The song placement almost could be a timeframe showing the time that’s past, to the time that she now has a baby.

Lil Wayne literally called Drake up while he was listening to his mixtape. Next thing he knew, he was flying to Houston to meet him, and nothing was the same.

It seems so far-fetched, you never think it could happen, but it could happen to anyone out here trying to live their dreams.
