Yelawolf has the money to buy whatever he wants, but still owns clothing that looks like it was given away for free. This plays on the meaning of “styles”, as it can refer to both the many styles of clothing Yela wears and the many styles of raps he brings to the mic.

This is also a reference to/jab at Macklemore, who became famous for his song “Thrift Shop” which is about getting clothes for as cheap as possible. Yela has felt that Mack stole his style, which is why Goodwill loves him more than Macklemore.

Logic is rapping from the perspective of his father, who is calling in a very timid manner. He knows the pain he caused young Bobby with drug and alcohol abuse, and wants to be careful not to disrupt the son he has revived a relationship with.

The father knows that Logic was home recently, but the two never came into contact. This alludes to the nature of the relationship between the two: when Logic is in town he’s too busy to visit his father.

The two have mended their relationship in recent years, however.

The burden that nicotine puts on Logic’s life is something he is unable to control. As he mentioned earlier in this song; he has tried to quit on Nikki, by trying other drugs, but it has done no good.

The word choice of using the word ‘slave’ is an effective form of consistant diction to a common theme, as it follows a Martin Luther King Jr reference. MLK is most notably known for what he did for the civil rights movement and African-American rights. Slavery was the opposite of what Dr. King stood for.

He loves popping open a fresh pack of cigarettes and sharing a little alone time with them.

He creatively compares the smoke coming out of the cigarette and the smoke coming out of the his mouth to two people during a kiss. The same circumstance occurs with oxygen when two people’s lips are very close before, during, or after a kiss.

The comparison that Logic makes of two lovers and himself and Nikki shows the intimacy of his relationship with cigarettes as he constantly craves them and wants to have one like a lover wants to be with their mate. It is almost as if Logic is telling ‘Nikki’ what he loves and appreciates about her similar to how couples do.

This line stronger builds the bond created throughout the album and this song between him and his girl Nikki and emphasizes how good it feels to smoke.

The identity of Nikki is finally revealed. In this song Logic struggles with his nicotine addiction which he refers to as Nikki; note the similarity of pronunciation – Nikki and nicotine. Logic understands that Nikki is not good for his health and is doing everything in his power to not go back with her, but lately Logic has been feeling like a slave for Nikki.

Logic goes by the nickname ‘Young Sinatra’ because his mom used to make him watch the legendary Frank Sinatra on TV when he was a child. Logic learned a lot from Mr. Sinatra and decided he wanted to bring that type of class to the hip-hop scene. However, Frank Sinatra was a known and common smoker. This could be one way that Logic was actually negatively influenced by his idol.
