The common idea of a thief stealing a purse is used here to show the evil in people.
Whether for the glory of being a hero by catching the person who stole the purse, or to steal the purse themselves, people don’t chase thieves to get them off the streets, they chase them so that they may be declared a hero for their brave actions, selfishly so might I add.
These people don’t actually deserve the title of hero, but want it as they are selfish.

Those who around at the end are the winners. This is a plays off of how this song starts so late into the instrumental and therefore the lyrics and lyricists on this song are around at the end, making them the winners.
Watsky creatively makes a long winded connection to make us think in which he is basically saying “I am a winner” while at the same time making us think about this idea and the truth behind it.
“History is written by the victors” is an idea that revolves around this idea that the winners are around at the end. As the losers die out, only the victors are left to write the history.

This is a use of irony. A nice guy would buy you a lot of things, but buying a girl drinks to get her drunk (most likely to use her for sex) is not a nice thing to do.
While the overall idea of it is “nice”, getting a girl drunk is associated with a sketchy person with bad intentions. Essentially, Mr. Nice Guy is kinda a dick.
