In Rock’s case, picking spots refers to him claiming a corner/block, his own turf, in the streets. Every street player has their own territory where they conduct their hustling.
A peacoat is a form of jacket that features a double-breasted overcoat of coarse woolen cloth. Levi 501’s are a type of jeans. His choice of attire suggests that he hustles all year round, as he needs to keep warm during winter.
