Media and adversaries criticize him for using drugs or making references about them in his songs, and often say that he should look for a more “proper” career instead of rapping.

Wayne responds by saying that he is a hustler and he’d rather keep doing what he does and die, than to “make a living” by being a regular person in a nine-to-five (regular job).

Matthew Mitchell (Stan’s younger brother) has been looking around to find Eminem’s house in order to kill him for the suffering he has caused him and the late Stan.

His use of the 9:45 time is curious to some. The most likely explanation is assonance; Em probably just wanted a bunch of “i” sounds in this line, given how meticulous he can be with his rhyme schemes.

A theory has been presented, though, that 9 hours and 45 minutes is the total length of Eminem’s discography except collaboration albums up to this album (Bad Meets Evil, D12…), bonus tracks, and deluxe tracks. Perhaps this suggests that Matthew is listening to Em while he’s driving around for him.

  • Infinite 37 minutes
  • The Slim Shady LP 59 minutes (96)
  • Marshall Mathers LP 72 minutes (168)
  • The Eminem Show 77 minutes (245)
  • Encore 77 minutes (322)
  • Relapse 76 minutes (398)
  • Relapse: Refill 33 minutes (431)
  • Recovery 76 minutes (508)
  • The Marshall Mathers LP 2 78 minutes (585)

A play with words on achieving his goals and on American Football, in which a goal post has the cross bar to vault over, similar to the cross bar in pole vaulting.

Eminem is saying he’s so close to reaching his goals, that he can literaly just pole-vault himself over the goalpost.

Pole vault is a popular field event where athletes use a pole to vault themselves over a bar set at a predetermined height. Similarly, Em will vault over his set goals. Links to the starting bars where he over-reached beyond his set goals.

Synonymous with the phrase “there are plenty more fish in the sea”, which means there are plenty more girls out there for him to get to know.
