Oh, easy, easy
Burn all your things

Burning bridges is easy, but will it truly bring you happiness? Probably not. Even though you may accomplish your goal of eliminating pain and negative memories, you’ll eventually forget the good times as well.

About this world
I Don't Care by The Ramones

Exhibiting some true punk ethics — the Ramones truly do not give a shit. About anything. After all, they named their album Rocket To Russia in 1977, in the middle of the Cold War.

Easy, easy

Easy (Switch Screens) by Son Lux (Ft. Lorde)

Some people think the only way to heal a broken heart is by resolving not to ever feel emotion again. Not only is this an extreme tactic, but it’s self-defeatist and doesn’t ever work. Although, you can get some real punk street cred for it!

And what good is the party
If you're not around
What is Love by Janelle Monae

When you’re in a committed relationship, the liberalness of parties can be unnerving. Why would you want to be surrounded by single people looking for a one night stand, when all you care about is chilling with your significant other?

What is love
If it's not with you
What is Love by Janelle Monae

Could it be? An allusion to “Night At The Roxbury”??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zlViU5PBPY

Sadly, probably not. Rather, Janelle is claiming that she doesn’t want to love anybody except for this one individual. To romance with anybody else would simply not be love in her eyes, but meaningless lust.

Cascades of water rain
LA’s a city stained
Carnival Ghost by Sacco 2

Most of the time, LA actually suffers from crippling drought, and the little rain that they do receive hardly helps to ameliorate the city’s arid conditions.

Driving through the summer
Racing to the winter
Driving by Sacco 3

A metaphor for rushing through the good times because you’re too preoccupied about the ensuing bad times. A similar notion was expanded upon by St. Vincent on “Regret” using the same “summer” paradigm:

Summer is as faded as a lone cicada call
Memories so bright I gotta squint just to recall

Back in 2011, I decided
To not let this play with my mind
Jealous (I Ain't With It) by Chromeo

Even though in the past he’s resolved not to let his jealousy take hold of him, it’s hard to apply that mindset when you continually see other men trying to prey on your girlfriend. While she simply sees them as being nice and friendly, she’s completely oblivious to the fact that…

they’re trying to fuck you!

I got strung up from our loving
I wish you cared to see
Jealous (I Ain't With It) by Chromeo

The fact that he’s “strung up”, or tense from loving this girl is somewhat ironic. At a certain point, as feelings intensify in a relationship, the issue of protectiveness and jealousy will come into play and one of the partners (typically the guy, see also: male aggro) will become more worried about their partner’s fidelity.

I get jealous, but I'm too cool to admit it
When the fellas, talk to my girl I ain't with it
Jealous (I Ain't With It) by Chromeo

A terrible internal battle: it’s hard to stand idle and watch your girl flirt with other guys, yet nobody likes an overprotective jerk who doesn’t afford his girlfriend any freedom. So where’s the middle ground? Probably in communication with your lover; if you don’t speak up about it, you may end up bottling up your jealousy only to have it explode in rage later on. With that being said, keep it classy and steer clear of frivolous accusations.
