Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, whatever you want to call him, is known for many things, one of them being his signature “Diddy Bop” dance move he performed in videos. Shad has adopted these dance moves in some of his own videos as well.
Notice the “shimmering” sound that comes on in the beat during this line. This is a reference to the flashy, “Shiny Suit Era”-music that Diddy ushered in, forever revolutionizing mainstream rap music.

Nowadays, the only people that discuss black on black violence are statistics; it is not brought up negatively in rap music any more since the sub-genre conscious hip-hop has started to die out. Back in the 90s when conscious hip-hop flourished, violence was often brought up and discussed in a negative light. Now, the listeners have become more ignorant and only care about bangin party tracks, not about tracks with messages like this one.
