Like Kendrick Lamar said,

They’ll kill you if you kill me, it gets deep nigga

This is the whole theme to the song, and to the Banana Clip Theory. One killing can start a war. Retaliation will always come, and retaliation to the retaliation. It is a continuous cycle, until everyone is dead. It is a continuous cycle.

In the K.R.I.T.-produced track #13, Krizzle touches on the retaliatory cycle of killing, an idea he calls the “Banana Clip Theory”. This theory details that if one person is killed, retaliation will come and be worse than the original killing. This, in turn, receives worse retaliation, and the cycle goes on, revolving like the barrel of a revolver.

The beat of this song is very stripped down, with K.R.I.T. rapping over a drum beat with a quiet bass and touches of saxophone and piano.

The song deals with the main theme of the mixtape, kinghood (detailed extensively in the second verse), and the Queen that the King is looking for. K.R.I.T. writes his verse from the perspective of a rich and wealthy King, the first verse in a more modern perspective, and the second dealing with almost a medieval setting.

Back before Raekwon had money from the music biz, and when this song likely takes place, he had to wear pretty crappy clothes as he could not afford anything nice. Stealing people’s stereos were just something to do, usually pawning them and generating any money that they could.

Tesla went through a short “failure” period where he dug ditches and burned bridges for a living.

Furthermore, both digging ditches and burning bridges are things one can do to induce a failure period; to “burn a bridge” means to ruin a relationship with another person to the point where they no longer want any contact with you. To “dig a ditch” means to get yourself into a bad situation.
