And it also rings true for his second album Dare Iz A Darkside which shows Redman paying homage to Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain.

Dare Iz A Darkside shows Redman buried head up in what looks like the middle of nowhere screaming, possibly reflecting the overall dark sound of the album, which was completely different from his debut Whut? Thee Album, and the dark times he was going through, as explained when talking about his whole catalog

On this album I was still definitely doing some drugs [laughs]. But there was a real chemistry with me and E. I got into it more on the production side on Dare Iz A Darkside. It was my idea to do the Funkadelic album cover (which was a nod to Funkadelic'’s classic 1971 work Maggot Brain). But the overall darkness just came from something different I wanted to do with Dr. Trevis. I was living in a real dark world at that time. I was doing a lot of acid and I was seeing shit [laughs]."

While at first glance the album cover doesn’t look like much the liner notes of the album tell a tell a much different story

Something to be noted is are his references to the layout of the album. The LP goes through three sections:

• Hell
• Purgatory
• Heaven

When the booklet is opened, it depicts these three sections. Other Tech albums with somewhat similar section divisions are K.O.D. and Something Else.
