Soul singer (from Philly!) Phyllis Hyman was bi-polar, though Black Thought isn’t. Her name worked well for the rhyme scheme, I suppose

Ronald Isley (of The Isley Brothers) – also a vehemently anti-tax musician – went to jail for tax evasion and was still imprisoned at the time of this recording (THOUGHT: be careful! Get a good, shady accountant to help you..)

An agriculture metaphor that isn’t about money – nice! Black Thought is dropping seeds of knowledge and wants to see who learns the most

Also, “The Seed 2.0” is a popular Roots song about impregnating a girl – maybe Thought wants to see which of the ladies can have the most children for him?

Also, he asks, “Whose thumb is the greenest?” With this, he is saying that he is not only dropping seeds of knowledge, but he’s also saying he’s the best at doing this. This goes with the first line, explaining that he can drop the best seeds of knowledge because of all that he’s overcome (“rising up out of the flames”).

What love can do to one physically is the song’s big theme.
Love is a drug so like almost every other drug there are symptoms when you are not on them like the DT’s with alcohol withdraw which cause you to shake and heroin withdraw physically drains all your energy and leaves you hurting. That’s why Em calls them succubus.
Symptons addicts experience when they don’t have their drug–the album’s big theme being “Recovery” and all.

Maybe, here’s “zero strength” – also playing on Space-theme?
i.t. zero gravity.
Without Space bound Eminem have zero gravity.
Huh?
