Fun fact: we randomly each have a bar referencing some sort of marine animal.

At the time that this song was written, it was a lot of frustration I was having with music, women and other personal facets of my life. A friend of a friend slid me this beat and it samples Alicia Myer’s classic I Want To Thank You, a religious song. So that inspired the whole theme of religion and keeping the faith throughout the song. Bless up.

I initially called this song No Concept because I thought it had no clear direction to it, but after laying it down I found that it’s about my hometown of DC, where I was born and raised.

The title of the song simply came about because I was in the studio with my homie Sparbz and we were chilling and drinking Tanqueray while making music. Cam came thru later mad faded and this collab happened. It was amazing. Tanq.

This is my favorite track off Still Learning because it features my brother Jovelly. The bond that we have is that we can go not talking for years and when we link up, it’s like nothing changed. This is how the track felt. During this time he was in school in the Chi and I was in Boston, but I had to nag a verse from him for the tape. And voila, this track was created. It’s a reflection of us being young and how we got so far in pursuing music.

One of my favorite tracks off Still Learning. The homie Drew comes through and just demolishes his verse.

Still Learning was originally supposed to be released in December, but it was released in April. This song explains why.
