Philippe Chow is an upscale Chinese restaurant with celebrity clients located on Madison Avenue and 60th Street, New York.
Confusingly there is another upscale Chinese restaurant with celebrity clients called Mr. Chows with a location at 324 East 57th Street, New York.
Philippe Chow and Michael Chow (owners of Philippe Chow and Mr. Chow’s respectively) are rivals, Michael Chow sued Philippe over copyright infringement.
Note the two restaurants are only about half a mile apart.
Lupe is also is playing on words, as “chow” is slang for food.
