Just like “ray” in the previous lines, Nate rhymes three homonyms together.

Writing his lyrical words into the computer program Microsoft Word makes his friends say Word.

Each use of the word “ray” here has a different meaning, yet the same spelling and pronunciation, making them all homonymously related. This mirrors the homonymous use of the word “word” in the following lines.

As he lays in sun rays while wearing his Ray-Ban sunglasses,

he’s listening to the song Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles.

A pretty paradisiacal picture.

The phrase the elephant in the room is an idiom that metaphorically means this: an obvious fact that everyone knows, but doesn’t talk about. Also, elephants are stereotyped to love peanuts, and the fact that he is throwing them at one means that he’s encouraging the truth to reveal itself. He’s symbolically feeding the truth.

In Homer’s epic The Odyssey, the main character Odysseus and his crew get captured by a cyclops named Polyphemus.

Note that this ugly mofo only has one eye.

They eventually escape from the beast by sneaking away, leaving Polyphemus in a rage, cursing them. Also, the word odyssey as a noun means a voyage or journey.

Referencing this, Cayea’s saying that if you think money is going to stop him from lashing out against corporate greed and injustice, then you’re not viewing his career/mission correctly. The cyclops' one eye metaphorically represents the limited vision of his critics who think he’s all about dat guap.

In addition to taking a stab at his open mindedness, Cayea theorizes that they might attack him for rapping about girls he wants to bang.

Cayea’s proposing that if those who are hiding the Pentagon tapes decide to smear his image as a response to his claim, they’ll attack his other statements that could be distorted for their open mindedness (something politicians are pretty damn good at.)

A common conspiracy theory surrounding the 9/11 attacks is that the Pentagon was not actually hit by American Airlines Flight 77 (see page 10 of The 9/11 Commission Report), but by a missile. This theory is suported by the fact that despite the building being the nation’s Department of Defense, the only video released of the happening are these few frames taken from a gas station’s security camera.

Cayea’s claiming that there is other video evidence that would prove it was in fact a missile, and not a plane that hit the Pentagon, but they have yet to be released to the public.

But seriously, you’re trying to tell me that the country’s Department of Defense doesn’t have any other surveillance cameras on the entire western side of their headquarters?

In the second line he is referencing a common phrase associated with renting VHS tapes (back when they were relevant.) After watching the flick, it was common courtesy to be kind and rewind the tape for the next person to rent it.

Cayea’s making a play on the phrase, saying he wants them to release the tapes, and he isn’t going to be very cordial about it.
