The KKK (Ku Klux Klan) refers to the racist movement that took place in America and started in 1865. They targeted and killed many black people despite their christian roots. They wore white robes and cone shaped white hats to hide their identity. Game is saying that the modern day police are pretty much the KKK without the robes and are deliberately targeting and attacking black people. Kurupt could also be referring to Tha Dogg Pound blowing up the rap game hence him saying “D.P.G.C” which is short for “Dog Pound Gangster Crips” and Kurupt is a member of Tha Dogg Pound so they are blowing up the game!

This is referring to English rock Legend and lead singer of the band “Black Sabbath”, Ozzy Osbourne who went through a hard time with a cocaine addiction. Gore Elohim plays on the idea of cocaine being “White” just like snow on Christmas. This implies that Ozzy snorted a lot of cocaine and had a major problem with substance abuse. He is mentioned in this line to show that he was not a good influence on kids especially because kids supposedly belonging to satanic cults (which this song is about) have been reported to be fans of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne.

Here, Eyedea questions whether we are actually alive in a real universe, or if this is some kind of plan or design like a blueprint for the universe. The Otherside is often a term used which refers to “Life after Death.” Here Pharoahe Monch is saying that when some people die, because of all the sin and evil they have committed, their souls are lost in the afterlife which means they can not reach a better place (heaven). Souls that are lost in the afterlife often mean that that person has been damned to hell for either not following a certain religion, or they just did a lot of evil things while living on Earth so they get lost as a punishment for their sins.

Here, Pharoahe Monch is saying that salvation, which is the deliverance from evil, pain and suffering in order to have a pain free life, is worth a lot more than physical, expensive, material things such as platinum and gold. Salvation is only a thing that only a few people will be able to get in life because we live in a world where pain and suffering is not avoidable and we come across it wherever we go. Some people, especially people belonging to a religion, feel like they have been delivered from evil and can be saved from pain but for everyone else, they are made to suffer.

This line may seem random but it’s within the context of Black Thought rapping about the government. There have been many conspiracy theories about the government not telling us the truth and keeping many things hidden from us. Some conspiracy theories suggest that the government is hiding information about aliens and that they know for a fact whether they exist or not but are not letting us know. It is not the fact that they are hiding the truth about aliens that bothers Black Thought but the fact that they are hiding information from us at all.
