You could spot the rapper doing normal things like jogging or walking, just like every other Average Joe. This is expanding on the idea and main basis of the song that he is just a normal man with some not-so-normal problems.
Em is a modern day master of the unstable psychotic rap persona, and this opening verse is exhibit A. He starts by painting a picture of fairly stable ordinary activity, his calm breathing underlining his efforts to stay, well, normal.

Then, in the next line it quickly disintegrates into full blown insanity and wild surrealism. Eminem enjoys letting us watch his mind unravel. Note the repetition of ‘you might see me’, which almost acts as an anchoring motif… but as we know, Em can’t stay grounded for very long. See here for another example of disintegration into insanity in an opening verse.

This is a good example of lyrics that demand ‘negative capability’ from the listener.

Negative capability = an idea espoused by John Keats whereby one holds various ideas/ concepts in one’s mind at the same time, without feeling a need to make ‘sense’ out of them. Many poets throw images and ideas at their audience that do not necessarily make any kind of logical sense, but create a general tone or mood.

Here, Em is doing exactly that. Best advice is to go with the flow and see what his next lyrical feat will be.

Ouch. People are bored of Kastro now, his single is played out, his album is due for release and no-one cares, and (worst of all) the guy who wrote his only hit song is releasing his own album in direct competition.

I’ll say it again: ouch.

More anaphora. Dizzee throws us into a dizzying (excuse the pun) whirlwind of girls. Some from school, some from college (6th form in the UK), some who offer oral sex (brains, also called knowledge).

To call them all that girl creates almost a frenzy of familiarity.

A neat continuation of theme from the previous line. Royalty (kings) have a ‘divine right’ to the throne. Dizzee, with his ghetto roots, is stating that he has not had this privilege, but has worked for his success in his past. Hence ‘hindsight’. He keeps the sight imagery flowing by saying that he ‘sees’ it all. Nice.
