This is very similar to a line used in the title track of this album Hip Hop is Dead:

“People smoke, chill, party and die on the same corner”.

The love which hippies hold as one of their values (a general love for nature and other people) is not favoured by Slug. He doesn’t seem to be a big fan of other people at all. He’s rapping about a woman that he can’t get out of his head.

This is also a clever word play on the meaning of ‘nuts’. He’s speaking both about a woman who drives him crazy, and one who gives him good sex (a nut is a common slang term for ejaculation).

This is a self-depreciating reference to the Big Punisher track I’m not a player which includes the line “I ain’t a player, I just fuck a lot”

Most performance artists create a shell for themselves, which serves as a protection of their personal lives against the adversity they encounter as an artist. Slug is showing that the rap game has a way of breaking through your defenses and sucker punching you.

Drawing a parallel between becoming a drug addict and joining a social network, although playing on the phrase by describing this as an antisocial network This is a stunning metaphor, for the following reasons:

• society is starting to recognise a phenomenon of internet addiction disorder. Ironically, most of the studies about this and steps for help are published on the internet. Plan B is saying that there’s not much difference between this addiction and one to drugs

• this is also pointing at the darker side of the circles of dealers and addicts hence “Antisocial”, as drugs are seen as an antisocial element of society. Indeed the UK government has come up with something called an Antisocial Behaviour Order (or ASBO), used to restrict the freedom of urban youths.

• similar to the wealth of knowledge stored on the internet (see Wikipedia for a start), the dealers and addicts in these circles are experts on all of the drugs which run their lives

This is also a lovely internal rhyme, matching “smack, coke an'” with “crack smokin'”.
