She's my drug and it only takes twelve bucks to fill 'er up
But in my galaxy there ain't no room for Earth
So I'm leavin' it cause I can feel the oil pressure building up
Turning over the ignition of my solar system
Check the gauges, push in the tape, put my foot on the brake
Shift existence, light my cigarette
And take it state to state until I crash into my fate Atmosphere – Free or Dead
Words beautifully written like Arabic Reflection Eternal – Some Kind of Wonderful

Asked me to keep her name out of my rhymes
So I said this rhyme that I'm about to say
It came from the heart and it went this way:
Go to hell girl, you make me sick!
I hope your new boyfriend gets cancer in his dick
What the fuck makes you think I'd put your name on my record?
Yeah, now I feel a lot better Atmosphere – Guns and Cigarettes

Slug uses an extended comparison throughout the hook, likening his driving around while touring to being in control of a spaceship. This metaphor illustrates the sense of freedom which he gets from being on the open road, which to him is an escape from reality. Saying that there’s no room for earth in his galaxy is another way of saying that he’s on his own planet, and doesn’t want to be bothered by the mundane concerns of this world. He’d prefer to be among the galaxies than the traffic.
The title of the song also references the car he’s rapping about and is on the cover: F(ree) OR D(ead)

In the 3rd episode of Atmosphere’s question and answer show, “Paint it Gold”, Slug reveals that driving is his car is next to rapping in terms of what he does to blow of steam and relax. The word “galaxy” is also a play on words and could be spelled “Galaxie” for the classic Ford Muscle car of the 60-70’s Galaxie 500. At the time of the release to fill a 22 gallon tank (which the Galaxie typically held) it would cost about 12USD.

To prove that he is talking about a Ford Galaxie even further, the song was originally released on the 2000 album “FordOne”.
