Blind Pilot

About Blind Pilot

Blind Pilot is an indie folk band from Portland, OR that formed in 2005.

As the original duo, made up of Israel Nebeker (vocals, guitar) and Ryan Dobrowski (drums, percussion), Blind Pilot released their debut album, 3 Rounds and a Sound, in mid-2008 through Expunged Records. They expanded the following February, adding four “touring” members with various musical talents (Luke Ydstie, Kati Claborn, Dave Jorgensen, and Ian Krist) before releasing their iTunes-Sessions EP.

Continuing as a sextet, they released their sophomore album, We Are the Tide, in September of 2011. Despite the band tripling in size, the album kept the familiar feel and low-key sound. Following a string of traumatic events in Nebeker’s life, including the end of a 13-year relationship and the death of his father, the band released their most somber-sounding and critically-acclaimed album yet, And Then Like Lions, on August 12, 2016 as their debut with ATO Records.
