Cory Monteith

AKA: Cory Allan Michael Monteith

About Cory Monteith

Cory Allan Michael Monteith (May 11, 1982 – July 13, 2013) was a Canadian actor and musician. He was known for acting as Finn Hudson on the Fox TV series, Glee. He was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, and began acting in various minor roles in Vancouver starting in 2004 until he got his major breakthrough in Glee in 2009.
Monteith had been dealing with drug addiction since he was 13 and an intervention was held for him when he was 19 after which he went to rehab, although he relapsed at some point afterward. While on “Glee”, Monteith’s addiction became such an issue that an intervention was held by the Glee cast and he was sent to rehab in March of 2013. He was released the following month, however, the rehab failed, and he was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver on July 13 of that same year. An autopsy discovered that his death was an accidental overdose of heroin and alcohol. His legacy was lived on in “Glee”, particularly in the third episode of the fifth season, titled “The Quarterback” (a reference to his character being the star quarterback for his high school). He was consistently noted for being loved by his fellow cast members and his skills as a drummer as well as a singer.
