DaBaby & Lil Wayne

During a 2019 interview with XXL, DaBaby named ‘Lil Wayne’ as one of the artists he listened to while growing up. During the same interview ‘Baby revealed that Lil Wayne was his favorite artist for a long time and would love to collaborate on a song.

In another interview later that year with 104.5 The Beat, DaBaby revealed that he had a song with Lil Wayne (likely meant for Lil Wayne’s ‘Funeral’ album at the time).

During an interview with Complex, Lil Wayne’s manager and life-long friend ‘Mack Maine’ revealed that Lil Wayne had a song with DaBaby that didn’t make the final cut of ‘Funeral’ due to clearance issues. Mack went on to say that the two artists will be working again either on DaBaby’s next album or a project for Wayne.

In September of 2021 DaBaby released “Lonely” featuring Lil Wayne.
